Patient Panel Consultant Award 2024

Consultant Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon Mr Kosuge is the proud recipient of The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust Patient Panel Consultant Award 2024.

Mr Kosuge led a quality-improvement project which resulted in measurable improvements in the patient pathway for those having hip replacements and knee replacements at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. Theatre productivity improved and length of stay for patients reduced dramatically, aligning The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust with national standards. These changes and the positive impact from these changes were recognised during an external review by Professor Tim Briggs, Chair of the Get It Right First Time (GIRFT) Programme in December 2023.

Patient care is at the core of Mr Kosuge’s hip and knee practice but introducing wider changes to benefit all patients that have a hip or knee replacement at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is an achievement he is delighted with.
